What the chart shows

Each pillar is a stem above a branch. The stems are what shows; the branches carry hidden stems inside them, which is where most of a chart's real weather lives and what most free calculators leave out. This one shows the hidden stems, marks which positions clash or pull together, and counts the element balance from every slot — so you can see at a glance what the chart runs hot on and what it is missing.

A chart is a list — the reading is the point

The eight characters on their own are like a blood panel without the doctor's note: accurate and mute. What people actually want from a chart is the interpretation — and interpretation is exactly what you cannot check on a stranger's website. So this one is built backwards: it first describes the years you have already lived, from the chart alone, and you judge whether it read you or read anyone. Only then does it offer the part you cannot check yet.

Solar calendar, real astronomy

The chart is set on the solar-term calendar, not the Western one — the year turns at lichun in early February, and the months turn at astronomical events this site solves for directly rather than reading from a table. Your birth place's historical time zone and daylight-saving rules are applied, and if you know your birth hour the clock is corrected toward true solar time for your longitude.
